NO SURFING?

Okay everybody, CALM DOWN. Friday afternoon, Marc Spaulding came in to the surf shop in a bit of an agitated state. He had just been to the beach and saw that the signs posted on the back of the lifeguard stands now listed SURFING as one of the "NO" activities.

Evidently everyone who surfs or has an interest in surfing is up in arms.

I called and left a voicemail as well as sent out an email to the Kennebunk Fire Chief Steven Nichols. (The Lifeguards fall under the jurisdiction of the Fire Department.) Apparently, there was a bit of a mixup when the guard stands were put on the beaches. It seems the Public Works Department guys put up the MOTHERS BEACH Lifeguard Stand signs on the GOOCH'S (KENNEBUNK) BEACH Lifeguard Stands. Mothers beach has always prohibited surfing. It's all clear to me now...

I want to thank Steve Nichols for calling me on his day off to set the record straight. Everybody can breathe easy now and wait for something to surf. Thanks for all your support!
