Aquaholics Surf Trip Morocco; December 28

December 28th, We planned on a dawn session with Pete at Anchor Point, as it’s a zoo after sunrise. We woke to Chrystal knocking on the door to wake us, but Marc wasn't quite awake and told her we’d meet her and  Pete there. Ummm, in the dark? Walking along a dark road along a dark path to a place I’d never been?  Jumping off a rock? Did I mention in the dark? I had my wetsuit on before I realized we didn’t know how to get there and would not have a "guide".

Anchor Point: The "jump off rock" is the one where the guy is right below the surfer on the wave. The waves crash on you if you time it wrong.

YIKES!

I took my suit off and went back to bed. Got up later and it was pretty windy.  Marc went on a surf expedition with the Surf Berbere guests and guides. I stayed to clean our apartment a bit, it was pretty dirty when we rented it (by my standards) and our landlord was smoking when we met him, so I cleaned it for most of the second day. Now it's ready for you all to spend a week or so, just hook up with Pete, he has several properties he manages. (he really calls that one "Aquaholics") It’s a great spot. The waves splash water on the steps at high tide. I'd hate to try to escape in a flooding storm, as there is no back exit. We’re on the second floor and it’s pretty noisy at high tide. A great kind of noise. It’s a little one bedroom flat with a couch that could sleep three, and we’re paying about $450 for 12 days. All our meals are eaten at Surf Berbere or one of the little café’s up the hill. The coffee is all instant unless you go to a café that makes espresso or cappuccino.

We’ve gone somewhere different every day. It’s part of the SurfBerbere camp program. We have two Moroccan Breber drivers, great fun guys. Azziz and Mohammed.
