Surfing in a Blizzard!!!

Hi everybody,
I just came back from surfing at Gooch's beach; the surf was about chest to head high, perfect peaks. The wind was offshore, not too strong, just nice to groom the faces. It's snowing SO hard, it's a little hard to see with the flakes blowing into your eyes, but it's very pretty out. Lizzie and I caught a bunch of nice waves. It wasn't too cold, but it does get a little chilly when you sit too long. Mark Seeley was out as well as David from The Landing School and a couple of guys in a car with Cali plates. The Cali guys seemed stoked to get some uncrowded, pretty waves.
I'm SO SICK of shoveling snow! Wear your boots if you come by, because I have too many orders to put in to take time to shovel. Hopefully one of my plow friends will swing by!
I was in Orlando with Christie-Lee (famous for her Mom's morning daring drops) for the SurfExpo trade show over the weekend. It was in the eighties during the day, but of course, we were in the civic center. We saw SO MUCH nice stuff for summer, I can hardly wait! (I can hardly wait anyway because I'm not a big fan of cold weather!) Anyway, the summer lines look really great. Aloha prints (can you believe it?) are starting to come back (maybe a little too soon, as I haven't sold out of the last time they were in style!) as well as some really strange 80's style prints. All in all we saw some really great stuff, and I'm pretty excited about a new soft board line Wingnut is producing: light and soft, but they look and feel like a nice performing board... with Wingnut at the helm, I'm sure they'll ride great!
I attended a great seminar on web site traffic, so I'm pretty excited about getting to work on that in Costa Rica.
I'll be off to Costa Rica January 30 to March 31, so you can contact me there via email. As long as I have a phone line, I'll have email access. I just lost the house I thought I was renting, but I'm sure I'll find something. I'll keep you all posted as to what's going on and I'll be rubbing it in how much I'm surfing! I'll probably rent in Junquillal, but my friends at Hotel Playa Negra or at Frijoles Locos Surf Shop in Playa Grande will know what I'm up to. I'm hoping to get the website store going soon, as soon as I study up on how to work it, so If I have any web sales suggestions, please let me know. I'd like to perk up the winter months, and Eric likes to stay busy.
The shop will be open Monday through Friday 12:00 to 5:00, Saturday 9:00 to 5:00, and Sunday 10:00 to 3:00 until the end of January. We will be closed all of February. Eric will have regular weekend hours through March. I will be back April 1st. I would love to have an April Fools Mom's morning (no kidding), so let me know if you want to join in. Make your reservation early if you don't have a winter wetsuit, as our supply is limited.
I'm still waiting for the Xcel shipment, so I'll get those suits that were ordered out ASAP.
Thanks
nanci

Hey Nanc,
Your surfing in the blizzard adventure sounds so cool. I wish i was ballsy enough to surf in the cold... I am sad that I don't get to go through all the cute new clothes as they come into the show with Lauren anymore :( I guess we will just have to come and shop more this year :) Well keep in touch- maybe we will see you in Costa Rica!
xoxo michelle
